I have always had a persistent curiosity for the secrets and mysteries of plants. Together with my natural tendency toward empathy and genuine interest in the well-being of others, this curiosity has led to a passion for plant-based medicine, which led me to complete a degree in naturopathy, focussing on herbal, nutritional and food-based medicine. This study has, in turn, resulted in an appreciation for science as a tool of discovery and evidence.
I believe deeply in the importance of holism – that each person is an individual with a unique set of challenges and a unique set of needs; each person is more than the sum of his/her parts; and we are all connected to and affected by our environments. I also believe we can build a stronger, happier community and society by strengthening each individual member to realise his/her full potential.
This is why I endeavour to deliver a service tailored to the specific needs of every person who walks into my clinic room, regardless of the nature of their health complaints. I do this by utilising the very best of scientific research and traditional wisdom in herbal and nutritional medicine alongside lifestyle-based support. Most importantly – I do this by listening to you express your experience and your needs.
I have a special interest in anything stress-related (whether your health complaints are caused by or causing stress), including but not limited to:
- sleep, energy and vitality support
- anxiety, depression and other mental health support
- cognition, brain function and other nervous system support
- immune system function
- digestive function and general gastrointestinal health
- sexual health and libido support
- reproductive and hormonal health
- all of those feelings of being “unwell” (however unusual or vague!)
In my own past experiences with health and disease I found it difficult to get the care I needed because I didn’t fit the right boxes. The beauty of naturopathy is that there are no boxes! We don’t treat diagnosed diseases, we treat people. This concept really fits with my world perspective and my appreciation of diversity, which is why I have committed myself to this work, and to assisting you in becoming a healthier and more whole version of your Self, in a way that works for you.
